Buyers pay a lot less attention to price than you think they do. It's a proven fact that less than 10% of buyers buy ONLY on price. The fact is, most buyers are more than willing to pay premium prices when you have taken the time to educate them about the value they will receive in return.

3 ways to respectfully handle your less-than-ideal clients

If you're charging what you're worth then you're going to be cutting loose the bottom 10-15 percent of your clients each year. But nobody likes to be "the bad guy" so when the time comes to move on what do you do? The answer isn't to just pack their bag and say, "See you later Charlie!". Nor is it to hang on to the guilt--and the clients--"because you don't want to hurt their feelings."

Call for Entries

 

The Digital Artist and The Gallery at Second Stage Studio are hosting their first juried competition and show for original two-dimensional art.


Work selected for this show will be on display during the month of December 2008 at the Gallery at Second Stage Studio in Cumberland, Rhode Island, USA.

 

Deadline for entries: October 1, 2008
Notification of selection: October 15. 2008
Artwork due: November 15, 2008

 

How to Enter


Submit the following items:

  • A CD of up to five digital images of 2D artwork
  • A $25 jury fee, payable by check to Second Stage Studio
  • A completed entry form
  • SASE for return of CD (optional)

Each image should be 300 dpi and a minimum of 700 pixels on the longest dimension. The original must be available for the exhibit and ready for display.

 

Selection Process and Juror


Work for this show will be selected by gallery director Carol Pentleton, gallery director at Second Stage Studio. Ms Pentleton is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and Syracuse University. A practicing designer and exhibiting artist, she has an extensive record of juried and solo shows, work in private collections in the United Sates and United Kingdom, and been listed in Who’s Who in America.


A Grand Prize winner and two Honorable Mention winners will be chosen from among the artists chosen to exhibit in this show.

 

Awards


The Grand Prize-winning artist will be offered a solo exhibition at the Gallery at Second Stage Studio plus a one-year paid subscription to a gallery-level membership at The Digital Artist.


Two honorable mentions will be awarded. Each artist receiving an honorable mention will receive a one-year paid subscription to a portfolio-level membership at The Digital Artist.

Celebrating the creative arts, Second Stage Studio offers a wide variety of performances, classes and exhibits for children, youth and adults.


Conveniently located on Angell Road, in Cumberland, Rhode Island, our location is about one mile south of interstate route 295.
